Center Assistant (Kinston Community Center)

Salary: $9.00 Hourly Location : Kinston Community Center, Kinston, NC Job Type: Temporary/Seasonal Job Number: 01443 Department: Parks & Recreation Division: Kinston Community Center Opening Date: 06/08/2026 Closing Date: 6/29/2026 5:00 PM Eastern Description Performs technical and administrative duties at the Lenoir County/City of Kinston Center. Essential Functions Assist customers with memberships Assist with registering for activities, including pool and water park. Assist customers with activity equipment. Register new clients. Serve as tour guide. Provide instruction on cardio and core equipment. General maintenance and cleaning of bathrooms, pool facilities, and building. Other duties as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities/Minimum Qualifications Must be 16 years of age by hire date. Must possess good communication skills. Must be computer literate. Knowledge of basic math; ability to handle money with accuracy; handle patronage statistics; and prepare accurate reports as requested in a timely manner. Must have POS (Point-of-Sale) experience. Must be customer focused. Must be willing to work flexible schedules. Must be willing to work nights and weekends.
