It is important for a custodian, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning and tidying the premises, as well as preventing vandalism. The ideal candidate will be experienced in a custodian role focused on building upkeep. They will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. A keen eye for detail and diligence are also imperative in custodial maintenance jobs.Qualifications: Excellent oral and verbal communication skills. Proven problem-solving skills.Essential Functions:Ensure spaces are prepared for the next day by taking out trash, tidying furniture and dusting surfacesSweep and mop floors and vacuum carpetsWash and sanitize toilets, sinks and showers and restock disposables (e.g. soap)Wipe mirrors and windowsSecure facilities after operating hours by locking doors and closing windowsKnowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliancesKnowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous componentsAttention to detail and conscientiousnessVery good physical condition and strengthHigh school diploma is preferred but not requiredAbility to meet public in a cordial and helpful manner both in person and by telephone.Ability to cooperate with co-workers and publicAbility to recognize when and when not to be a decision makerOther tasks and duties as assigned.Questions regarding this position, please contact David Wolfe, View email address on click.appcast.io.
