The Ramp Supervisor is responsible for overseeing a team of ramp agents and ensuring the efficient, safe handling of aircraft on the ground. This position involves coordinating activities such as baggage handling, aircraft towing, and servicing aircraft, while adhering to strict safety and operational protocols. You will be pivotal in training and mentoring team members and coordinating with flight crews and other airport personnel to ensure timely aircraft turnarounds. Additionally, this role requires quick decision-making, effective problem-solving, and maintaining high standards of customer service and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities include supervising the ramp team operations, coordinating ramp activities, training and mentoring ramp team members, monitoring team compliance with airline and airport regulations, conducting pre-shift briefings, overseeing the proper handling of baggage, cargo, and mail, managing communication between the ramp team, flight crew, and ground operations, ensuring proper use and maintenance of ground support equipment, implementing and enforcing safety measures and hazard prevention on the ramp, responding to and managing operational issues and emergencies, facilitating efficient teamwork to meet flight schedules and service standards, conducting performance evaluations and providing feedback to ramp team members, ensuring compliance with all DOT regulations, conducting regular audits and inspections, liaising with other airport departments for coordinated operations, maintaining accurate records of ramp operations and incidents, promoting a culture of safety and professionalism within the team, exemplifying PrimeFlight customer service and safety standards, and performing any additional duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications include being 18 years of age or older, legally authorized to work in the country of employment, holding a valid driver's license, communicating effectively in English, having a minimum of 2 years of experience in ramp operations or a related aviation field, proven experience in a supervisory or leadership role, strong knowledge of ramp safety and operational procedures, ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, effectively communicating with colleagues and clients, eligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances, and flexibility to work various shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical activity/working conditions may include ability to lift up to 70 pounds, prolonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment, reaching with arms and grasping with hands, pushing, pulling, bending, stretching, squatting, kneeling, climbing and working at elevated heights, exposure to moderate and at times high noise levels, exposure to biohazards and/or chemicals, exposure to outdoor elements, ability to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarms, tasks involving repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingers, and specific vision abilities.

The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position. However, individual compensation may vary based on factors including qualifications, skills, competencies, education, and experience.
