Quality Manager

A leading automotive manufacturer in the Des Moines area is seeking an experienced Quality Manager to lead all quality system, process, and customer compliance functions. This is a key leadership position responsible for maintaining certification to IATF 16949 , driving continuous improvement, and ensuring consistent product quality across production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and maintain compliance with IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 quality management systems.
- Lead internal and external audits, corrective actions, and customer quality requirements.
- Manage a team of quality engineers, technicians, and inspectors.
- Interface directly with customers and suppliers to resolve quality issues.
- Develop and monitor quality metrics, PPAP documentation, and control plans.
- Champion root cause analysis and continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma tools.
- Ensure calibration, testing, and inspection processes meet company and regulatory standards.
- 5+ years of quality leadership experience in an automotive or precision manufacturing environment.
- Proven experience maintaining or implementing IATF 16949 systems (required).
- Strong understanding of APQP, PPAP, FMEA, MSA, and SPC methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred.
