Facilities & Campus Operations Manager As the Facilities & Campus Operations Manager at Resonate, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of the church's facilities and grounds across all campuses. You will be responsible for overseeing all maintenance, repair, and improvement projects to maintain a welcoming and safe environment — while also serving as the strategic lead for facilities planning, budget management, vendor relationships, and campus expansion readiness. Reports To: Operations Minister HOURS: Full‑Time, Non‑Exempt, 40+ hours per week Time Requirements: Sundays to Thursdays, some events Location: Fremont, CA Effective Date: June‑July 2026 Description Managing an in‑house team of custodians (both paid and volunteer), a maintenance team, project teams, and a group of subcontractors and vendors. Your duties encompass the management and operation of buildings, grounds, parking lots, equipment, and building systems — ensuring everything is fully operational, clean, and prepared for services and ministry activities. Responsibilities Shepherd, encourage, and develop the Campus Safety, Setup/Teardown, and Facilities Serve Staff leaders Build, lead, and supervise teams including custodial, maintenance, project, and safety/security — made up of serve staff volunteers, paid staff, and subcontractors/vendors — providing guidance, training, and support as needed Foster a positive and collaborative team environment where serve staff feel connected to Jesus, to each other, and to the mission Resonate is called to in our city Recruit, train, and develop serve staff in facilities, safety, custodial, and setup roles — equipping them to use their gifts for the glory of God and the edification of the church Build a custodial team of serve staff and paid staff, training and equipping them to perform regularly scheduled cleaning tasks including tidying, cleaning, deep cleaning, and disinfecting Develop and maintain cleaning schedules, standards, and accountability systems that ensure all campus spaces are consistently clean and ministry‑ready Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, ensuring adequate stock levels and proactive reordering Manage and maintain the church's buildings, grounds, parking lots, and equipment to ensure they are operational, safe, clean, and prepared for services and activities. Create scalable systems that will work across a variety of current and future campuses Own the facilities management strategy and system (eSpace) — maintaining accurate records, work order workflows, maintenance schedules, and facility data Systematically conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs, deferred maintenance priorities, and repair requirements Execute and oversee preventive maintenance tasks including HVAC system checks, plumbing repairs, electrical maintenance, fire safety systems, irrigation, and periodic deep cleanings Oversee carpentry, painting, and aesthetic upkeep to maintain the interior and exterior of all campus buildings Coordinate with external contractors and subcontractors for larger maintenance projects, ensuring their work meets church standards and budget Build scalable systems for facility operations that can function consistently across current and future campuses Supervise landscaping and grounds maintenance including lawn care, exterior cleaning, and parking lot upkeep across all campus locations Coordinate seasonal maintenance tasks and ensure the exterior of all church properties is well‑maintained, safe, and welcoming Implement and maintain safety systems, emergency procedures, and security protocols across all campus facilities Build and oversee the campus safety team — coordinating with security professionals and law enforcement as needed Conduct regular safety inspections, emergency equipment checks, compliance walkthroughs, and fire drills Develop and maintain emergency preparedness plans in compliance with local regulations — including response plans for natural disasters, medical emergencies, and other crises Train and equip serve staff and volunteers on safety procedures, emergency response, and facility protocols Develop and manage the facilities budget — ensuring expenditures remain within allocated funds Obtain competitive bids for projects and services, negotiate contracts, and ensure cost‑effective solutions Proactively communicate budget considerations, upcoming needs, and financial projections to the Operations Executive Minister — ensuring no financial surprises for leadership Ensure cleaning and maintenance schedules and budgets are clear, current, and regularly updated Evaluate facility needs, deferred maintenance priorities, and campus infrastructure readiness — surfacing proactive recommendations and actionable plans to executive leadership Partner with the Operations Executive Minister and Executive Pastor to develop clear, actionable plans for future campus expansion — including budgeting, timeline projections, and facility feasibility assessments Evaluate facility feasibility and organizational readiness for expansion initiatives, providing executive leadership with clear assessments and options Determine when outside consultants, architects, contractors, engineers, or specialists should be engaged and manage those relationships operationally Oversee operational planning and execution for large‑scale facility projects, renovations, and campus development efforts Proactively bring ideas and suggestions to the Operations Executive Minister about how to improve facilities, processes, performance, and expenses Provide support for all ministry areas, assisting in setting up and tearing down equipment and furnishings for events and activities Ensure event spaces are prepared and maintained for regular services, meetings, and special events Coordinate facility logistics for large organizational events, staff gatherings, and ministry initiatives Ensure building systems and structures comply with local building codes, safety standards, and zoning laws Adhere to OSHA regulations to maintain a safe work environment for staff and volunteers — including proper handling of hazardous materials, maintaining safety equipment, and conducting regular safety drills Ensure compliance with fire safety codes including installation and maintenance of fire alarms, sprinklers, and extinguishers Comply with ADA requirements to ensure facilities are accessible to individuals with disabilities Follow EPA guidelines related to environmental protection including proper waste disposal, recycling, and hazardous materials management Ensure all electrical and plumbing systems meet regulatory standards and are inspected regularly Adhere to regulations regarding security systems and surveillance including data protection and privacy requirements Work with the Operations Executive Minister to ensure the facility maintains appropriate insurance coverage including general liability, property insurance, and other relevant policies Maintain accurate records of all maintenance, repairs, and inspections for regulatory compliance and audits Comply with health and hygiene standards in restrooms, kitchens, and all campus spaces Supervise and execute facility improvement projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget while maintaining quality standards Coordinate facilities documentation, SOP ownership, and Asana project tracking with the Admin Coordinator — ensuring all facility procedures, vendor records, and maintenance histories are organized and current Provide regular and proactive facility readiness updates and operational status reports to the Operations Executive Minister in support of campus planning and ministry coordination Attend and participate in staff meetings, prayer gatherings, and leadership meetings Support major ministry weekends and organizational events including Easter, Good Friday, Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Christmas Eve Participate in ongoing leadership development, strategic planning, and professional growth Maintain administrative compliance, communication responsiveness, and organizational accountability Support organizational culture, staff health, ministry excellence, and operational consistency across the organization What Success Looks Like You lead a team of serve staff (Resonators) involved in custodial, security, maintenance, and special projects — using their gifts for the glory of God, the edification of the church, and their own joy. The Resonators feel connected to Jesus, to each other, and to the mission we are called to in our city The church's buildings and grounds are clean, orderly, safe, and in good repair — with preventative maintenance schedules in place to minimize issues and disruptions, while matching the culture and expectations of Resonate Cleaning and maintenance schedules and budgets are clear, proactive, and regularly updated to meet the needs of Resonate — for people and finances, there are no “big surprises” You are proactively bringing ideas and suggestions to the Operations Executive Minister about how to improve facilities, processes, performance, and expenses All campuses of Resonate feel cared for equally and are better equipped to run their ministries You have partnered with the Operations Executive Minister and Executive Pastor to create clear, actionable plans for future campus expansion — including budgeting, timeline projections, and alignment with the church's overall mission and growth goals The facilities and related operations support and enhance the church's mission, ministries, and activities — contributing to a welcoming, functional, and inspiring environment for the Gospel to be shared Qualifications Proven experience in facilities management or a related field, including hands‑on experience with building maintenance, repair, and improvement projects — preferably in a church or nonprofit organization Experience leading and managing a diverse team including custodians, maintenance staff, and subcontractors Strong knowledge of building systems and maintenance practices for plumbing, electrical, HVAC, fire safety, and irrigation systems Ability to incorporate software and technology for efficiency, productivity, and accountability Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time efficiently in a fast‑paced environment Excellent organizational and problem‑solving skills Effective communication skills with staff, volunteers, and external contractors Commitment to the mission and values of the church community Preferred Qualifications Certification in facilities management or a related field Experience with budget management and vendor contract negotiations Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in facilities management Proficiency in project management concepts and tools such as Asana Familiarity with facilities management systems such as eSpace Physical Requirements Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks related to maintenance and facilities management As Staff of Resonate Church We Value Family - We live from our identity as beloved children of God and pursue His mission above our own agendas.
