Staff Product Manager, ML Embeddings

Salary Range: $172,000.00 - $224,000.00 What’s the role We are looking for a Staff Product Manager to join our ML Enablement team and drive the platform vision and strategy for ML Embeddings at Etsy. As the Staff Product Manager, you will be responsible for defining and implementing strategy for embeddings and next‑gen retrieval capabilities at Etsy. Embeddings is a critical component for the success of a machine learning model in production to deliver outstanding customer experiences. Candidates living within commutable distance of Etsy’s Brooklyn Office Hub or in the San Francisco Bay Area may be the first to be considered. What’s this team like at Etsy At Etsy, the Retrieval team is building the embeddings system to support our next‑gen ML capabilities. They also own several retrieval strategies such as ANN and filtering. These systems are crucial for our ranking use cases such as Search, Ads, Personalization etc. We balance several sets of requirements, solving near‑term problems while making progress towards a long term strategic vision. What does the day‑to‑day look like Play a central role in building the next‑gen retrieval capabilities that will empower multiple business critical ML workloads at Etsy Build insights into Etsy use‑cases and strategize where AI/ML technologies can be applied to drive business impact. Use these insights to build and drive the roadmap for ML Retrieval at Etsy. You will closely partner with outstanding talent across engineering and ML teams, and drive tight integration with other ML systems to build a strong retrieval engine that supports multiple modalities. Define clear OKRs that can help the team ensure progress towards our goal of driving ML adoption. Define the right telemetry to enable insights for both Product Management & ML Scientist teams. Qualities that will help you thrive in this role are Experience in ML platform product management or ML products esp Search or Ads Ability to work with multiple teams, understand scenarios and infer technical requirements Ability to create roadmap and strategy for internal facing technical platforms Excellent problem-solving, interpersonal skills, and product intuition with the ability to evolve product strategy based on research, data and industry trends Ability to work with multiple teams, build insight into their scenarios and infer technical requirements.
