Cost Accountant
We are looking for a Cost Accountant to add to our team in Longmont, CO. The Cost Accountant will be responsible for all inventory accounting functions. Key areas of responsibility:
- Developing inventory analysis reports and analyzing variances
- Assisting in the improvement in internal controls related to inventory
- Verifying accurate standard costs
- Monitoring inventory transactions
- Performing month-end cost accounting close
- Calculating annual Standard Cost updates (Material & Labor)
- Reconciling monthly inventory accounts to the general ledger
- Preparing monthly journal entries
- Understanding Revenue Recognition including Multiple Element Recognition
- Building relationships with international factory personnel
- Special projects as required
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in business, accounting, finance, or related field required
- Equivalent work experience in a similar position may be substituted for educational requirements
Experience:
- Minimum one year of general accounting experience required
- Advanced work in pursuit of a Bachelor's degree (e.g., junior and senior year, etc.) in accounting, finance, or a related field can be substituted for one year of experience
Other:
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required
