Laborist/Hospitalist in Obstetrics & Gynecology Faculty

Location: Downtown Nashville, Tennessee

We are looking for OB/Gyn Laborists/Hospitalists to become part of a newly established section within one of the Southeast's most active Labor & Delivery units. With over 5,700 deliveries each year and aspirations to reach 7,000, our facility serves as a key referral center for complex obstetric cases from community hospitals across Middle Tennessee.

• Shift-based schedule with no on-call responsibilities: 14 shifts per month, averaging 12 hours each, including a mix of days, nights, and weekends. Additional shifts are compensated at $2,000 each. Part-time candidates are welcome to apply.
• Each shift involves rotating through three roles: (1) Primary attending for L&D, (2) Night coverage for L&D, or (3) Inpatient Gynecology “Attending of the Week,” covering inpatient gynecology consults, transfers, and emergency surgeries for a week.
• Support is always available — Maternal-Fetal Medicine specialists are on-site during the day and reachable by phone at night; midwives handle high-risk obstetrics, allowing you to focus on the most complex cases; world-class subspecialty support is always present on campus.
• Diverse clinical exposure: work with complex obstetric patients from a wide-ranging population, including refugees, rural communities in Kentucky and Alabama, transplant patients, and those in the Firefly program aimed at reducing opioid addiction and suicide rates during pregnancy.
• Engage in active quality improvement initiatives, including a primary C-section rate review and a new hypertension management program in collaboration with OB cardiology launching this summer.

• Base salary: $370,000
• Compensation for extra shifts: $2,000 per shift beyond 14 per month
• Relocation assistance: $10,000
• Continuing Medical Education (CME) allowance: $4,000 with 10 CME days
• All necessary licenses, certifications, and fees covered separately after starting, including ABOG Maintenance of Certification and ACOG dues.

• MD/DO with board certification or eligibility in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
• Completion of a U.S. residency program is required.
• Prior experience as an OB/Gyn hospitalist or laborist is preferred; OB Hospitalist fellowship is preferred for leadership roles.
