Position Name: Medical Surgical Registered Nurse

Type: Full Time/Permanent - Direct Hire

Location: Hudson, FL

Available Shifts: Days/Nights

Salary range: $30 - $42 per hour plus benefits

The Medical Surgical Registered Nurse plays a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care within a multidisciplinary team. This position involves managing a typical caseload of 5-10 patients per shift in an acute care setting. Nurses use advanced clinical skills and critical thinking to provide comprehensive care, including medication administration, vital signs monitoring, wound care, and patient education. The role requires strong communication and collaboration with diverse healthcare professionals and proficiency with EMR systems such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech. This position offers rotating day and night shifts with opportunities for ongoing training, certification support, and mentorship.

 

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care and monitor health status
• Administer medications and treatments per care plans
• Monitor and record vital signs accurately
• Perform wound care and assist with patient hygiene
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans
• Document all care activities in electronic medical records
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members to optimize patient outcomes
• Respond promptly to emergencies and changes in patient condition
• Operate and maintain medical equipment safely
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards
• Maintain clear and professional communication with patients and staff

 

Required Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in acute care nursing
• Nursing Diploma or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN)
• Florida Registered Nurse license or active compact licensure with FL RN license obtained within 90 days
• Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience specifically in acute care nursing settings
• Strong critical thinking and patient assessment skills
• Certification in Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS)
• Knowledge of infection control protocols
• Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) such as Epic, Cerner, and Meditech
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Mr
