FILLED - Registered Nurse - Per Diem, Day - Endoscopy - Overlook Medical Center Summit, NJ, United States Be the First to Apply Job Description Registered Nurse Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology and Pulmonary. Maintains SGNA standards of practice. Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions; actively includes the patient and family in teaching. Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in meeting staffing needs of the unit. Practices clinically with the goal of improving patient satisfaction. The department is open Monday – Friday 6:30am to 6:00pm and Saturday 7:00am-4:00pm with an on-call team available any time the department is closed for emergencies. Principal Accountabilities: (including but not limited to) Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports. Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions. Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments. Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions. Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members. Records patient vital signs and medical information. Performs other related duties as assigned. Schedule: Weekend and holiday rotation required Qualifications Required: Graduate of an accredited Nursing Program. Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse. BLS certification. Must be able to push/pull/lift to 35lbs. Must be able to tolerate long periods of standing and/or walking. Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in nursing. All ASN must complete their BSN studies within five years of their start date. Master’s degree in nursing or related field. CGRN, ACLS, PALS preferred At least 1 year of experience in Nursing or relevant area.
