The City of Twin Falls is seeking an Engineer-in-Training to join our Engineering team and help plan, design, and manage public infrastructure projects throughout our community. This is a great opportunity for an early-career engineer who wants hands‑on experience with real municipal projects. You’ll work alongside licensed Professional Engineers on projects involving streets, water and sewer systems, irrigation, pipelines, airport infrastructure, subdivisions, stormwater systems, and other public improvements. Help manage capital improvement and public works projects from design through construction Prepare and review engineering plans, specifications, bid documents, and cost estimates Work with consultants, contractors, developers, and regulatory agencies Review subdivision, street, water, sewer, stormwater, and irrigation plans Conduct field inspections and help resolve construction issues Assist with contracts, change orders, project budgets, and invoices Provide engineering support to City departments Prepare reports, correspondence, and presentations Assist residents, developers, and contractors with engineering-related questions $31.32 - $37.57 hourly ($65,145 - $78,166 annually), depending on qualifications and experience Full‑time, non‑exempt position Retirement plan with strong employer contributions Medical, dental, and vision coverage Paid medical and vacation leave and paid holidays City‑paid life and disability insurance Wellness and additional retirement benefits Free or discounted access to City recreation amenities, including the pool, golf course, and library What We’re Looking For Strong foundation in civil engineering principles Interest in public infrastructure and project management Strong communication and problem‑solving skills Ability to organize projects and manage deadlines Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibility Ability to work independently and as part of a team A commitment to Honesty , Integrity , Connection , Commitment , and Teamwork Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field Valid Driver’s License An equivalent combination of experience and training may be considered where appropriate This position includes both office and field work. Field work may include construction sites, project inspections, walking over uneven terrain, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions.
