RN Neuro Trauma ICU

Join LewisGale Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in our Neuro Trauma Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The RN coordinates and delivers high‑quality, patient‑centered care in the Neuro Trauma ICU, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members to provide individualized, compassionate care using standard nursing models such as “Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage.” The RN advocates for patients, families, and caregivers and supports the organization’s vision and mission to deliver exceptional patient experiences and outcomes. Responsibilities Perform procedures, monitoring, or other functions as ordered by the medical provider(s) and document the administration of care in the patient medical record promptly and thoroughly. Teach patients, families, and caregivers about the medical condition, status, treatment plan, medications, side effects, and follow‑up measures, translating complex terminology for full understanding. Provide education on non‑medicinal follow‑up measures such as healthy diet, exercise, disease prevention, and lifestyle changes, preparing families for future self‑management. Implement evidence‑based practices and continuous process‑improvement initiatives to exceed quality measures and enhance patient care. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to coordinate, evaluate, customize, and deliver holistic patient treatment plans that promote recovery. Qualifications Diploma or associate’s degree from a professional nursing program (required). BSN or current enrollment in a BSN program at an accredited school of nursing (preferred). Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligibility to practice in VA under a multi‑state compact (required). American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) health‑care provider certification (required).
