Senior Data Developer

Role Description

Join the Cleveland Clinic team, where you will work alongside passionate caregivers and provide patient-first healthcare. As a Senior Data Developer, you will:

• Design, develop, test, and deploy software applications.
• Collaborate with developers, project managers, analysts, leaders, and clinicians to create effective technology solutions.
• Support the extraction, validation, transformation, and delivery of research data from complex clinical and operational systems.
• Ensure data pipelines are reliable, scalable, and compliant with governance standards.
• Provide high-quality datasets to researchers and data science teams.
• Leverage advanced software development and engineering expertise to drive technical solutions and continuous improvement.
• Work remotely from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• Analyze, design, and coordinate the development of software systems.
• Develop new software and proof/test the development to ensure production of a quality product.
• Analyze current programs and processes and make recommendations for cost-effective products and streamlined workflows.
• Define and implement high-performance software leveraging a strong understanding of embedded hardware design.
• Support team strategy in development approach and iterate with team members around design and development.
• Provide technical support to other developers, including design of relational databases and client-side programming strategies.
• Determine and communicate implications of system-level decisions on subsystems and components.
• Make presentations to clinicians and hospital leaders.
• Translate clinical problems into innovative healthcare solutions.
• Gather business and application-specific requirements and ensure all requirements are met within defined project scope.
• Keep up with industry trends from Healthcare IT and mobile development perspectives.
• Determine causes of problems related to hardware, operating systems, application programs, or network failures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field and 10 years of software development experience.
• OR High School Diploma/GED or equivalent and 15 years of experience.
• OR Associate’s degree and 13 years of experience.
• Experience with SOA development using SOAP and REST; mobile application development and associated libraries.
• Proven track record of enterprise architecture experience with large volume, high availability enterprise applications.
• Experience with Microsoft .Net Technology Stack and Relational Database Design.
• Knowledge of programming languages: Microsoft C#, iOS Objective C, VBScript, Visual Basic, ColdFusion, Microsoft T-SQL, CCSS3, HTML5.
• Knowledge with Angular or React or TypeScript, query, query Mobile, KnockoutJS, UnderscoreJS, YUI Compressor.
• Experience in interfacing with internal and external customers.

Requirements

• Experience with hospital or medical systems.
• For Information Technology Division caregivers, ITIL Foundations certification is preferred.
• Experience with managing end-to-end data workflows.
• Python, R, SQL experience.
• Experience working with healthcare research data.
• Experience building machine learning models.
• Experience using modern AI tools.
