Position Summary: The Junior Accountant is responsible for supporting daily accounting operations and purchasing activities. This role combines transactional accounting responsibilities with procurement functions to ensure accurate financial records, timely vendor payments, and efficient purchasing processes. The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to work across multiple departments. Key Responsibilities: Accounting Functions Process accounts payable invoices and ensure timely vendor payments. Generate customer invoices and assist with accounts receivable collections. Prepare and post journal entries. Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations. Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities. Support external audits by preparing requested documentation. Review employee expense reports for accuracy and compliance. Assist with financial reporting and accounting analysis. Maintain accounting files and supporting documentation. Purchasing Functions Create and issue purchase orders. Assist with obtaining and comparing vendor quotations and pricing. Assist with coordinating purchases of office supplies, equipment, materials, and services. Monitor office supplies and reorder supplies as needed. Maintain vendor records and pricing agreements. Assist with tracking purchase orders from issuance through receipt and payment. Assist with resolving discrepancies between purchase orders, receiving documents, and vendor invoices. Communicate with vendors regarding pricing, delivery schedules, and order status. Assist in identifying cost‑saving opportunities and process improvements. Ensure purchasing activities comply with company policies and approval procedures. Administrative Functions Maintain electronic and physical records. Prepare reports and spreadsheets as requested. Support special projects and process improvement initiatives. Provide backup support for other accounting and administrative functions. Required Qualifications: Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field. 1–3 years of accounting, bookkeeping, purchasing, or administrative experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software. Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills. Excellent organizational and time‑management abilities. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
