Childcare Cook

Precious Time Child Development Center is looking for a dependable, organized, and caring Cook to join our team! Our Cook plays an important role in making sure the children we serve receive safe, nutritious, and child-friendly meals and snacks each day. If you enjoy preparing food, take pride in maintaining a clean kitchen, and understand the importance of providing healthy meals to young children, we'd love to meet you! What You'll Do Prepare and serve daily meals and snacks for children according to the center's menu. Follow established meal plans and recipes while meeting required nutritional guidelines. Prepare food in appropriate portions for different age groups. Follow all food safety, sanitation, and health procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen and food preparation areas. Properly store, label, and rotate food and supplies. Monitor food inventory and communicate when supplies need to be replenished. Follow proper procedures for food allergies, dietary restrictions, and special meal requirements. Maintain accurate food preparation and kitchen records as required. Work closely with teachers and administration to ensure meals and snacks are served on schedule. Follow all Virginia childcare licensing, health, and safety requirements. Help create a positive and welcoming mealtime experience for children. Requirements What We're Looking For High school diploma or GED preferred. Previous cooking, food service, daycare, school, or institutional kitchen experience preferred. Experience preparing meals for children is a plus. Knowledge of basic food safety and sanitation practices. Ability to follow recipes, menus, and established procedures. Ability to safely prepare and handle food. Strong organization and time-management skills. Reliable attendance and dependable transportation. Ability to pass required background checks and health screening. CPR/First Aid certification preferred or willingness to obtain. A positive attitude and genuine desire to contribute to a quality childcare environment.
