Role: Agent Gateway and AI Experience Platform and Integration Engineer
Location: Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)
Type: Contract
Role Summary:
- The Platform and Integration Engineer will build governed model-routing services, agent-to-agent and Model Context Protocol connectivity, SDK migration utilities, reusable enterprise integrations, and automated controls for production AI adoption.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and build model gateways, intelligent routing services, and reusable integration components.
- Implement agent-to-agent and MCP-based connectivity patterns.
- Develop SDKs, migration utilities, APIs, adapters, and reference implementations.
- Integrate authentication, authorization, secrets management, policy enforcement, and audit controls.
- Build automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and release controls.
- Implement telemetry, tracing, metrics, logging, and operational dashboards.
- Support API lifecycle management, compatibility, versioning, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate with architecture, security, platform, and application teams.
- Troubleshoot integration, scalability, latency, reliability, and production issues.
Required Skills:
- Python and object-oriented software development.
- REST APIs, API gateways, web services, and SDK design.
- MCP, agent interoperability, and integration architecture.
- Authentication, authorization, identity, and policy controls.
- CI/CD, automated testing, and source-code management.
- Observability, tracing, logging, and production support.
- Containers, Kubernetes, and cloud-native engineering.
- Secure software-development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with LLM gateways, agent platforms, service mesh, or API-management products.
- Cloud, Kubernetes, security, or API certification.
- Must be located in Charlotte, NC or in the California Bay Area
