Registered Nurse (RN) Float PoolInova Fairfax Hospital is looking for a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Labor & Delivery Float Pool team. You will have the opportunity to support a variety of specialized Women's Services units across the hospital including Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, High Risk Perinatal and the Antenatal Testing Center. We are also proud to be consistently recognized as a top employer in both the D.C. metro area and the nation.Featured Benefits:Committed to Team Member Health: offering medical, dental, and vision coverage and a robust team member wellness program.Retirement: Inova matches the first 5% of eligible contributions – starting on your first day.Tuition and Student Loan Assistance: offering up to $5,250 per year in education assistance and up to $10,000 for student loans.Mental Health Support: offering all Inova team members, their spouses/partners, and their children 25 mental health coaching or therapy sessions, per person, per year, at no cost.Work/Life Balance: offering paid time off, paid parental leave.Registered Nurse (RN) Float Pool Job Responsibilities:Performs comprehensive patient health assessments by interpreting multiple, sometimes conflicting, data sets and synthesizing their interrelationshipsFormulates individualized plans of care based on assessment findings and interpreting trends in patient populations to achieve best practiceSupports and empowers patient/families as they progress through the healthcare continuum from health promotion to end of life decisionsAdvocates for patients' rights from the patient/family perspective while providing counsel and acting as a resource to resolve issuesAnticipates ethical, spiritual and cultural needs of patients and intervenes to maximize patient outcomes and coordinates healthcare and alternate services for patient/family transition planningDocuments all patient care activities, as per documentation standards, and assists healthcare team members with documentationEvaluates the outcomes of documentation and contributes to related performance improvement initiativesCollaborates with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and leads other disciplines to meet desired outcomesActs as a clinical resource and serves as a mentor to healthcare team membersDemonstrates evidence of self-development by obtaining a minimum of six formal contact hours and maintains own Team Member Continuing Education RecordMinimum Qualifications:Certification: Basic Life Support; If Critical Care unit, Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support upon start; If Pediatric unit, Pediatric Advanced Life Support within 6 months of hireLicensure: Licensed Registered Nurse or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state Registered Nurse licenseExperience: 1 year of experience as a Registered Nurse; if Critical Care Unit, minimum 1 year clinical experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting or completion of a critical care fellowshipEducation: Bachelor's Degree Nursing or Associate's Degree; If RN has an Associate's Degree, within 2 years of date of hire, they must meet with their nurse leader and conduct the following: 1) Identify which accredited school they plan to attend, 2) Provide a written plan with anticipated BSN completion date, 3) Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses, and 4) Complete BSN within 5 years of start date.
