$30.13 - $33.14 per hour w/"A" Certificate (+10% above "B") This is technical work operating and maintaining water treatment plant and auxiliary facilities; operating water pumping and treatment systems safely and efficiently. Employee works in a lead capacity and assists in training the operation and maintenance personnel. Employee is required to work assigned rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays and may be assigned on-call duty. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

- Working knowledge of principles, practices, methods, and equipment used in water treatment operation and maintenance.
- Working knowledge of water treatment plant facilities, equipment, and operating practices.
- Working knowledge of practices, methods, materials, and tools used in the mechanical trade.
- Skilled in operating and maintaining water treatment plant equipment.
- Knowledge of occupational hazards and appropriate safety precautions; ability to promote safety practices.
- Ability to accurately record data; prepare and maintain clear and concise reports.
- Ability to perform routine mechanical and/or electrical repairs; conduct routine laboratory tests; handle chemicals properly and safely.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
- Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Ability to perform assigned duties; perform heavy manual work in all weather conditions.
- Ability to lift, carry, pull, push, and maneuver bulky and heavy materials; lift objects up to 75 pounds.

- High School Diploma or GED, supplemented by course work in water treatment operations theories and principles or wastewater treatment operations.
- Valid Florida driver's license.
- Possess Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP) Drinking Water Plant Operator Class "C" Certification; ability to obtain "B" and "A" certifications in accordance with FDEP certification program guidelines.
