FP&A Analyst, Financial Forecaster

Role Overview

Apply deep FP&A and Financial Forecaster expertise to evaluate AI-agent work against live models and supporting financial documents. You will help ensure tasks, model worlds, and grading criteria reflect the rigor of real forecasting, lender reporting, covenant compliance, and financial reporting work.

Key Responsibilities

• Review completed AI-agent runs in Financial Forecaster and validate the scenario, account, coordinate, accounting basis, conclusion, and completed deliverable against the underlying model and documents.
• Identify failure modes, including tasks that are too easy, can be completed without using Financial Forecaster, or produce incorrect results for subtle reasons.
• Improve prompts and seeded model environments so they mirror complex, authentic FP&A and lender-reporting work.
• Refine grading guidance to distinguish accurate answers from plausible but incorrect ones, including errors involving scenario vintage, accounting basis, prohibited add-backs, unapplied model corrections, and conclusions copied from source documents.
• Detect incorrect figures presented at the wrong level of detail and conclusions that conflict with other information in a reporting package.

Qualifications

• Use Financial Forecaster hands-on for real forecasting, covenant, or reporting work at least weekly in a current or recent role.
• Have 5+ years of professional experience in FP&A, financial reporting, technical accounting, or lender reporting, including experience as an FP&A analyst or manager, financial reporting analyst, technical accounting analyst, treasury or lender-reporting analyst, or controller.
• Read Financial Forecaster models fluently, including multidimensional models, account hierarchies, scenario trees, exact coordinates, scenario inheritance, locks, forecast vintage, overrides, calculated versus input accounts, and CSV import unit and scale requirements.
• Trace reporting-pack figures to their underlying account, scenario, and coordinate; determine whether a tie-out is valid; reconcile conflicting in-model sources; and identify scale, period, and aggregation errors.
• Understand scenario notes, driver notes, policy notes, planning notes, assumption change logs, variance commentary, saved views, exports, scenario creation and locking, and the platform''s limitations.
• Apply sound judgment across legal-entity, department, segment, and consolidated reporting structures; credit agreement mechanics; compliance certificates; borrowing bases; Eligible Accounts; leverage and fixed-charge coverage measures; EBITDA add-backs and caps; and amendments, consents, and waivers.
• Differentiate GAAP, non-GAAP, covenant, forecast, and projection measures, including relevant requirements for non-GAAP presentation, AICPA prospective financial information, ASC 205-40, ASC 280, SAB 99/Topic 1M, KPI disclosure, Regulation S-K Item 303, and valuation allowances.
• Understand the purpose and completion requirements of compliance certificates, borrowing base certificates, lender packages, board or committee pre-reads, earnings releases and reconciliations, disclosure committee memos, and workpapers.
• Exercise the confidence to reject answers that appear reasonable but are incomplete or wrong.
• Preferred experience includes credit agreement compliance and borrowing base reporting, going concern or impairment analysis, segment reporting, SEC reporting or disclosure committee work, and work across multiple models and entities.
• A CPA, CFA, or MBA is welcomed but not required. Experienced FP&A analysts and technical accounting specialists are particularly relevant candidates.

Work Terms

• Remote, hourly engagement.
• Eligibility requires ongoing or recent weekly hands-on use of Financial Forecaster as part of professional work.

Compensation

$70 to $110 per hour.
