Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments of elderly clients to identify their unique emotional care needs and develop personalized treatment plans.

• Provide both individual and group therapy sessions that address various emotional challenges, including grief, loss, and life transitions, using evidence-based practices.

• Educate staff and family members on effective strategies to foster emotional well-being for elderly clients, enhancing their overall quality of life.

• Facilitate grief counseling for clients and their families, helping them to navigate difficult end-of-life discussions and processes.

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of counseling sessions and treatment plans in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.

Patient Population / Client Focus\n

This role specifically focuses on providing counseling services to an elderly demographic. Our clients may struggle with a variety of issues tied to aging, including chronic illness, bereavement, depression, anxiety, and adjustments to changing life circumstances. Qualifications\n

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work, Mental Health Counseling, Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, or a related field.

• Completed a full-time clinical internship in a mental health setting, demonstrating hands-on experience with client care.

• Eligibility for licensure by the state of New York as a Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

• Possess a valid driver’s license in good standing, although primarily working remotely.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with an aptitude for building trust rapidly with clients.

• Strong active listening abilities, coupled with an empathetic approach to providing client support.

• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills, essential for maintaining accurate client records.

Preferred Experience\n

• Experience in geriatric mental health counseling or working with seniors in a therapeutic capacity is highly desirable.

• Familiarity with telehealth platforms and virtual counseling best practices will be beneficial.

Compensation and Benefits\n

The salary for this position ranges from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We also offer a sign-on bonus for successful candidates. Benefits include:
