Physician Associate or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner - Orthopedics

Description MaineHealth Orthopedics, Sports Medicine & Podiatry Farmington, is recruiting a Physician Associate (PA) or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP)to join our experienced Orthopedic team in Farmington, ME. Under physician supervision, the successful candidate will provide medical care through office-based evaluation and treatment ofoutpatients as well as orthopedic surgical support. The APP will workin surgical, hospital, and clinic settings as part of a dynamic team. The orthopedics practice includes a mix of orthopedic surgeons with range of skills including joint replacement, fracture care, sports medicine, and podiatry.Orthopedic and orthopedic surgical experience are preferred, including experience providing first-assist support to orthopedic surgeons. Candidates must also be able to provide care for patients across all age groups. Primary responsibilities are performed Monday through Friday, with flexibility in scheduling within standard business hours. Responsibilities include first-assist coverage in the operating room, inpatient rounding on the medical-surgical unit, ambulatory clinic practice, and emergency department consultation and evaluation. Participates in call coverage as part of a shared rotation for Orthopedic Surgery. Minimum Qualifications: Successful completion of an accredited Physician Associate/Assistant program or a Nurse Practitioner with an Acute Care Certification. Current license issued by the State of Maine or eligible for licensure. NCCPA certification for Physician Associate/Assistant or ACNP for Nurse Practitioner Current BLS required Ability and willingness to provide care to patients of all ages. Knowledge of patient assessment techniques including medical histories, performing evaluations and wellness diagnosis Knowledge of indications for proper techniques for office procedures Excellent communication and team collaboration skills Experience: Orthopedic experience preferred.
