General Profile Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own job discipline and basic knowledge of related job disciplines Solves complex problems Works independently with minimal guidance May lead projects or project steps within a broader project or have accountability for ongoing activities or objectives Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience Consistent exercise of discretion and judgment Essential Functions Develops, evaluates, and improves industrial manufacturing methods, utilizing knowledge of product design, materials, parts, fabrication processes, tooling, production equipment capabilities, assembly methods, and quality control standards. Analyzes and plans workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, and designs layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Determines parts, equipment, tools, and processes needed to achieve manufacturing goals according to product specifications. Estimates production times, staffing requirements, and related costs to provide information for management decisions. Communicates manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other information to facilitate production processes. Confers with vendors to determine product specifications and arrange equipment, material purchase, and parts. Evaluates products based on specifications and quality standards. Required Qualifications Associate's Degree and 5–7 years of experience; engineering degree required. Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's Degree. Strong oral and written communication skills, ability to meet deadlines, work independently and as part of a team, problem‑solving, analytical thinking, design expertise, and leadership skills. Physical Requirements Must be able to remain in a stationary position at a desk and/or computer for extended periods. Requires regular movement throughout GD‑OTS facilities. Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climates and/or operate machinery. This position is Safety‑Sensitive. Travel Requirements Standard travel is minimal, primarily within domestic locations; specific details provided upon interview.
