Automotive Journeyman Technician

Description

Tasca Chevrolet in Wheeling is looking for an experienced Journeyman Automotive Technician with Transmission experience and ASE certification to join our award-winning team. Competitive pay and union benefits. Sign on bonus. Local 701 Union. EOE

Responsibilities:

Perform work specified on the repair order with efficiency and in accordance with dealership and General Motors standards
Diagnose, maintain, and repair vehicle automotive systems including engine, transmission, electrical, steering, suspension, brakes, HVAC, and infotainment systems
Communicate directly with the Service Advisor so that customers are informed if any additional service is needed. Provide an estimate of labor and time needed for additional automotive repairs
Execute repairs under warranty to manufacturer specifications
Continuously learn new technical information and techniques in formal training sessions to stay up to date with rapidly changing technology

Requirements

GM dealership experience as a journeyman automotive mechanic
Experienced transmission technician, 5+ years experience
Must have Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications
Team-oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining the highest level of customer service (CSI)
Ability to learn new technology, repair and service procedures and specifications
Must have a valid driver's license and clean driving record
Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A.
Must pass pre-employment background checks and drug screen
