Medical Office Assistant (MOA)MUSC Health: Heath Springs Primary Care is a Primary Care Clinic with the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout the state of South Carolina.A Medical Office Assistant (MOA) provides constant and efficient operations of the physician medical office. Duties to include scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections. Coordinate and participate in a variety of duties associated with daily clinic preparation process, patient identification, patient check in/out, charge posting, cash management and patient appointment scheduling. Position also involves customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling and preparation, and referrals management.Serves in a working clinical support role for physicians. Responsible for assisting physicians and nurses with patient care. Responsible for patient check-in, registration and check out processes for new and established patients. Schedule appointments and assist all patients and visitors with questions, concerns and issues.Minimum Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalency plus one year of patient care experience in a health care facility; or a Certified Nursing Assistant; or successful completion of a Nursing Assistant or Medical Assistant course at an accredited institution or equivalent training; or EMT or Paramedic certification; or a Bachelor's degree.High school diploma or GED is required.
