You'll train the Guides who engage directly with students, transforming them into outstanding coaches instead of traditional instructors. You'll facilitate life skills sessions that students carry with them for years. You'll analyze performance metrics to pinpoint where students or Guides need support and guide them toward excellence. You'll also manage your own student group, demonstrating the same standards you uphold for others. The downstream impact is substantial. Each Guide you mentor affects dozens of students. What You Will Be Doing Develop and mentor Guides to execute Alpha's coaching philosophy with reliability, enthusiasm, and unrelenting standards. Facilitate dynamic life skills sessions addressing communication, concentration, feedback, leadership, and resilience for students in grades K-8 using established frameworks. Analyze student and Guide performance metrics to recognize coaching needs, eliminate obstacles, and produce quantifiable progress each week. Conduct motivational sessions that encourage every student to embrace challenging goals and reliably accomplish them. Oversee your own student group while exemplifying the coaching quality and accountability you require from all Guides. What You Won’t Be Doing Instructing academic content. Students progress through core subjects independently via AI-powered learning platforms. Developing lesson plans or building curriculum. Your focus is outstanding coaching, not producing educational materials. Controlling classrooms with lectures, worksheets, or disciplinary frameworks. Students direct their learning, and you mentor the behaviors that enable achievement. Reducing standards to sidestep challenging discussions. Rigorous expectations and authentic confidence in every student's capability are inseparable. Evaluating success by volume of activity rather than actual outcomes. Learning And Development Manager Key Responsibilities Establish a coaching environment where outstanding Guides reliably cultivate students who are enthusiastic about school, advance through academics at an accelerated rate, and develop the resilience, leadership, and life competencies necessary for success well beyond the classroom. Basic Requirements Available to work on-site in Dallas, TX; Oklahoma City, OK; Austin, TX; or Fort Worth, TX (relocation assistance available). Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline. 5+ years of professional experience in education, learning and development, coaching, youth leadership, or comparable field. Demonstrated experience managing a continuous team of five or more adults, holding final or principal authority for team member selection and performance-based termination decisions. Consistent, ongoing responsibility for the learning, conduct, motivation, or development of children ages 5-14 within an educational, developmental, athletic, or youth leadership context. Documented history of establishing, launching, or substantially expanding a program, team, school, business, or initiative from inception, rather than merely sustaining or inheriting existing operations. Demonstrated capacity to leverage performance data and metrics to identify challenges, sequence priorities, and achieve measurable outcomes. Comfort working in an educational environment that intentionally diverges from conventional teaching methods. Legal authorization to work in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship. Nice-to-have Requirements Master's degree in Education, Psychology, Organizational Leadership, or related discipline. Background in athletic coaching, experiential or outdoor education leadership, camp direction, youth programs, or other group-based organizations. Experience developing or managing innovative education models, EdTech initiatives, tutoring services, nonprofit programs, or learning systems beyond conventional classroom instruction. Record of exceptional personal accomplishment in academics, athletics, entrepreneurship, or leadership roles. Deep belief that education should cultivate capable, resilient, self-directed young people rather than merely transmit academic material.
