JOB SUMMARY This service is designed to meet the specific mental health needs of the identified client as they relate to their diagnosis and can be provided in‑home, in‑office, in‑school or other approved community settings. Outpatient therapy includes psychoeducational activities/interventions designed to assist the client in reducing dysfunction. Services are delivered through client‑centered and family‑centered approaches, intensive, time‑limited, goal‑specific interventions. RESPONSIBILITIES Provides intensive clinical therapeutic services to children, adolescents, and adults with identified mental health or substance abuse diagnoses. Offers psychoeducational activities/interventions designed to assist clients in reducing dysfunction. Delivers services with client‑centered and family‑centered approaches, intensive, time‑limited, goal‑specific interventions. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Safely operate a motor vehicle to transport self, consumers, and program supplies as necessary. Travel to assigned locations and perform light physical tasks such as standing, stooping, bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, lifting, grasping, climbing, and operating office equipment. Move and lift light objects up to 20 pounds (e.g., mail, supplies, files, equipment). Operate office equipment requiring continuous or repetitive hand/arm movements. Remain seated for extended periods of time. QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Master’s degree in a Mental Health field (e.g., Social Work, Psychology, Counseling). Licensure/Certification or Provisional Licensure/Certification eligible. Deliver in‑home or in‑office services. Provide therapeutic interventions to enhance and foster client’s optimal functioning in the home and community. Continuously assess client needs, service availability, and appropriateness. Work cooperatively with treatment team members and the family to meet goals developed in the Person‑Centered Plan. Provide appropriate documentation for service delivery, including treatment goals, progress notes, and billing; submit documentation as specified by Medicaid and VOACC standards. Counsel individuals or groups regarding psychological or emotional problems, using evaluative techniques, and develop and implement therapeutic treatment plans. Interview patients to obtain information concerning medical history or other pertinent information. Observe clients to detect indications of abnormal physical or mental behavior. Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Email, and other systems (e.g., electronic time punches, electronic medical records). Bilingual in any language is a plus.
