Job Description Financial Access Specialist 2. Work Schedule 100%FTE, 100% ONSITE Days – Monday-Friday 8:30am-5pm (Training schedule is 8am-4:30pm M-F) Department Description UW Medicine Patient Financial Access Services Department - Financial Access Clearance Team (FACT) Primary Job Responsibilities Review scheduled appointments through patient work queue Obtain insurance authorizations through assigned payer administrators Verifying/document patients' eligibility and benefits in Epic auth/cert Refer uninsured patients for Medicaid/Charity eligibility screening Prepare estimates of fees upon request from Patient Care Consultants Interpret hospital's policies, procedures and services to patients, patient representatives, inter/intra-hospital departments and community facilities Verify patient benefits and document information Requirements High School diploma or GED certificate plus two years of experience in a medical office setting. Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
