Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care Unit (ICU) team in Aberdeen, Washington. This role is crucial for providing specialized, high-acuity nursing care to critically ill patients, utilizing advanced monitoring and life support equipment in a dynamic hospital setting.

The successful candidate will work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans. This position demands a proactive approach to patient management, including precise medication administration, accurate diagnostic interpretation, and comprehensive patient and family education to ensure optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct and individualized nursing care to critically ill patients based on scientific nursing principles.
• Consult and coordinate with healthcare team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care plans.
• Prepare and administer prescribed medications (oral, subcutaneous, IV), monitoring for adverse reactions and documenting in accordance with policy.
• Provide essential bedside care, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Initiate and implement patient education plans, teaching patients and significant others about post-treatment home care, diet, exercise, medication self-administration, and rehabilitation.
• Accurately record patients’ medical information, vital signs, and all care provided in a timely and complete manner.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests and lab reports to identify and assess patient conditions.
• Prepare equipment and assist physicians during patient examinations and treatments.
• Respond effectively to life-saving situations following established nursing standards and protocols.
• Apply Hemodynamic, Phlebotomy, and IV protocols as required.
• Monitor and adjust specialized equipment, interpreting and recording electronic displays such as central venous pressures, pulmonary artery pressures, cardiac rhythms, and ventilator settings.
• Monitor catheters, leads, and tubing for proper placement and functioning, initiating corrective action for adverse symptomatology.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of recent critical care experience in an acute hospital setting.
• Proof of right to work in the United States.
