Histotechnologist

Citizens Memorial Hospital (CMH) is seeking a Certified Histotechnologist for our Dermatology Clinic in Bolivar, Missouri. CMH is made up of 34 primary and specialty clinics, 6 Long-Term Care facilities and 1 residential care facility. About the department : The Pathology Department at CMH performs histology/pathology necessary for diagnosis and treatment of patients in an accurate and timely manner.

A typical day will include: Processing tissues, embedding, cutting, and preparing tissue sections for H and E, special, and immunohistological staining.

• Performs all steps in the preparation of tissue for diagnosis by the pathologist
• Conducts quality control checks and documents results; recognizes and rejects results based on pre-determined ranges of acceptability
• Basic troubleshooting of stain issues to be resolved prior to releasing slides to pathologist.
• Maintains instruments and performs basic troubleshooting; documents and reports needs according to policy and procedure
• Operates laboratory information systems, personal computers and instrument-related computer software.
• Assists the pathologist in preparation of frozen sections

Job Requirements:

• Education: Associate's (HT) or Bachelor's (HLT) degree
• Experience: At least one year as a HTL or HT,a nd at least one year of MOHS experience preferred
• Skills: Manual dexterity, attention to detail, organization, time management
• Licensure/Certification: Histotechnologist (HTL) ASCP certified OR Histotechnician (HT) ASCP certified

The position is: Full-time days, 7:30am-4:00pm
