Medical Assistant

Northwest Labs is seeking a Medical Assistant to join our team in Pontiac, MI. As a Medical Assistant, you will be integral to delivering high-quality patient care and administrative support within a healthcare setting. Reporting to the healthcare provider, your responsibilities will include medication administration, monitoring vital signs, and managing electronic health records (EHR) systems. Duties

• - Assist healthcare professionals with patient care and treatment
• - Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and maintaining medical records
• - Take patient vital signs and record medical history
• - Prepare examination rooms and sterilize medical instruments
• - Administer medications and vaccines under the supervision of a healthcare provider
• - Perform basic laboratory tests and collect specimens
• - Provide patient education on medication, procedures, and follow-up care
• - Assist with minor surgical procedures and wound care

Qualifications

• - High school diploma or equivalent
• - Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent training
• - Certification as a medical assistant
• - 3+ years experience working in a healthcare setting
• - Knowledge of medical terminology and basic clinical procedures
• - Proficiency in electronic health record systems
• - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• - Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment
