Senior Software Engineer – Optum Services, Inc. – Brentwood, TN (allows for partial telecommuting). Responsibilities Design, develop, and modify highly specialized computer applications to drive user efficiency; build high‑performing and scalable data systems, applications, and data pipelines to process very large amounts of data from multiple sources; develop services, controls, and reusable patterns that enable the team to deliver value safely, quickly, and sustainably in the public cloud; build platform features for the AI/ML lifecycle including data processing, AI inference (batch, real‑time, hybrid), and end‑to‑end MLOps for non‑generative and generative use‑cases; utilize deep knowledge of AI/ML systems engineering to define future architecture patterns for a multi‑cloud platform; develop robust, scalable, and maintainable code that meets high standards of quality and performance; coach and encourage enterprise data scientists and ML engineers to adopt scalable, robust process architecture for AI/ML use‑cases; stay up‑to‑date with the latest advancements in AI/ML technology and introduce innovative techniques and tools to the team; mentor and develop junior engineers on the team. Participate in the entire software development lifecycle—design, implementation, testing, CI/CD and production operations; proactively automate infrastructure, application and services to enable automated delivery through the CI/CD pipelines to the cloud; ensure proprietary applications satisfy rigorous internally defined technical requirements for performance, resiliency, availability and scalability; collaborate with solutions users to build, extend, and enhance applications that accelerate efficiency and innovation across the organization; provide post deployment support and quickly respond to and resolve unexpected service problems in production. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, Engineering or a related field. Three (3) years of experience as a Software Engineer or in a related occupation. Three (3) years of experience in: Big data processing and ETL development. Automation and programming (Python, SQL, Shell Scripting). Cloud Data Engineering within Azure Ecosystem including Databricks and ADF. API Endpoint Development, Integration and Testing. Data Warehousing on Snowflake. Continuous Integration and Continuous Development in an Agile environment. Data Analytics and Visualization with a focus on quality. Salary $143,100 – $176,586 per year.
