Travel RN - Pediatric PACU

American Traveler is hiring a Pre-Op/PACU RN for an outpatient surgery center requiring 2 years of relevant experience and prior charge experience. Requirements Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration BLS and ACLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of relevant nursing experience required Previous charge RN experience required Pre-Op and PACU experience required Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in IV therapy, phlebotomy, and starting/maintaining IVs Experience with airway assessment and placement of oral/nasal airways Experience with cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmia recognition/management Experience administering emergency medications, narcotics/opioid analgesics, and reversal agents Experience with pre/post-operative patient care, including EKG/ECG, consent processes, and pre-op assessments Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager, director, or supervisor; a charge RN may serve as the second reference; coworker references not accepted Responsibilities Outpatient surgery center Pre-Op unit serving adolescent and adult patients Patient ratio of 1:2 Rotating 8-hour day shifts, including 6:00 a.m.–2:30 p.m., 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., and 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m. Shift hours may extend based on patient census and operational needs Uses Epic for documentation and Pyxis for medication dispensing Provide pre-operative and post-anesthesia care for adolescent and adult surgical patients Care for patients undergoing ENT, orthopedic, podiatry, urology, and vascular procedures Support patients receiving various anesthesia types, including general, local, MAC, spinal, and nerve blocks Scrubs provided Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process promptly upon signing contract due to strict compliance timelines Candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to an Ohio fingerprinting location; those farther away will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Former employees eligible for assignment after 6 months away from the facility Current employees of any Ohio State University hospital location are ineligible for travel assignments Previous travel assignment experience required; first-time travelers not accepted Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs #J-18808-Ljbffr American Traveler, LLC.
