Recovery Mind Counseling Center is actively seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Trauma-Informed Mental Health Counselor to become an integral member of our team. This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to provide specialized mental health services remotely to individuals grappling with the effects of trauma, including post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), complex trauma, and dissociative disorders. Work Environment\nThis position is entirely remote, allowing for a flexible work-life balance while still engaging with a supportive team environment. You will collaborate with psychiatrists and other mental health professionals to create a cohesive care experience for patients. Our work hours are typically from Monday to Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some flexibility in scheduling to accommodate patient needs, particularly in providing timely support during crises.
Key Responsibilities\n- \n
- Conduct thorough, trauma-informed mental health assessments that evaluate patients' trauma backgrounds and develop personalized treatment strategies. \n
- Create and execute individualized treatment plans aimed at facilitating trauma recovery, empowering patients through resilience-building techniques. \n
- Offer evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including modalities such as Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). \n
- Facilitate both individual and group therapy sessions, helping patients process their trauma, develop coping mechanisms, and foster a healing environment. \n
- Engage in regular collaboration with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive patient care. \n
- Provide immediate crisis intervention support during trauma-related emergencies. \n
- Educate patients and their families about trauma responses, management techniques, and available community resources. \n
- Maintain accurate and confidential documentation that aligns with legal and ethical standards in mental health practice. \n
- Participate in case consultations, team meetings, and training initiatives focused on evolving trauma-informed care practices. \n
- Stay informed on the latest research and best practices in trauma therapy, enhancing your ability to provide top-tier care. \n
The mental health professionals at Recovery Mind Counseling Center work primarily with individuals who have experienced significant trauma, including survivors of abuse, neglect, and other adverse childhood experiences. Our approach not only treats complex PTSD but also addresses the overall psychological well-being of patients, emphasizing a thorough understanding of trauma-related disorders. This enables us to respond to the unique and often multifaceted needs of our patient population.
Qualifications\n- \n
- A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. \n
- Current, valid licensure as an LCSW, LPC, Psychologist, or LMFT in the state of Texas. \n
- A minimum of 2 years of post-licensure experience in mental health counseling is strongly preferred. \n
- Demonstrated knowledge of trauma-related disorders, trauma-informed treatment modalities, and resilience-based approaches. \n
- Experience in delivering trauma-focused therapies and interventions effectively. \n
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, combined with a compassionate, non-judgmental demeanor. \n
- Ability to remain calm and effective in high-stress situations. \n
- Proficient in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other computer applications essential for documentation and patient management. \n
- Strong aptitude for teamwork, particularly in a multidisciplinary setting. \n
Preferred candidates will bring a robust background in trauma-focused therapies and a rich understanding of evidence-based practices in treating trauma-related disorders. Familiarity with innovative therapeutic techniques and a genuine passion for supporting trauma recovery will be key differentiators.
