Position Title: Barista

Location: Boerne, TX 

Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Bring the Aloha Spirit to Boerne! We are seeking energetic, friendly, and customer-focused Baristas who are passionate about delivering an exceptional Hawaiian-inspired beverage and café experience to our guests. Our Baristas play a key role in creating a welcoming environment by providing outstanding customer service, preparing high-quality beverages and food, maintaining a clean and organized café, and building lasting relationships with our guests.

Previous barista or coffee shop experience is strongly preferred. Hands-on experience preparing espresso-based beverages, working with coffee equipment, and providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced café environment is highly valued. Candidates with related café, restaurant, or beverage service experience who are eager to further develop their barista skills are also encouraged to apply.

Essential Responsibilities

• Welcome and engage customers by providing exceptional customer service, answering questions, making menu recommendations, taking orders, processing payments, and resolving customer concerns professionally.
• Prepare and serve high-quality hot and cold beverages, including coffee, espresso drinks, lattes, smoothies, teas, and other specialty beverages, following established recipes and presentation standards.
• Prepare and serve food items, including bagels, muffins, donuts, sandwiches, and other café offerings while maintaining quality and food safety standards.
• Learn and maintain knowledge of all menu items, brewing methods, ingredients, and seasonal offerings to confidently assist customers and provide recommendations.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming café environment by cleaning dining areas, sanitizing equipment and utensils, emptying trash, washing dishes, and restocking supplies.
• Assist with inventory management by monitoring product levels, replenishing display cases and workstations, rotating inventory, and notifying management of inventory needs.
• Ensure compliance with all company policies, food safety standards, sanitation procedures, health department regulations, and applicable safety requirements.
• Work collaboratively with team members to ensure efficient operations during peak business hours while delivering an exceptional guest experience.
• Participate in ongoing training and development to continuously improve product knowledge, beverage preparation, and customer service skills.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support business operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous barista, café, restaurant, or customer service experience is strongly preferred.
• Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and continuously develop new skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Availability to work flexible schedules, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Food Handler Certificate (or the ability to obtain one if required by local regulations) is preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and perform repetitive hand movements throughout the workday.
• Ability to safely lift, carry, push, or pull up to 40 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Ability to remain calm, professional, and customer-focused during busy or stressful situations.
