Member Specialist

Position Summary Support and engage members by providing helpful customer service and ensuring a safe, organized shopping experience. Act as the primary point of contact in the checkout area and throughout the store, handling transactions, returns, and member inquiries. What You’ll Do Provides member service. Maintains the checkout area. Resolves member issues and concerns. Promotes Sam’s Club products and services. Provides guidance and support to members regarding self-service technology. Processes member purchases. Assists with payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges according to company policies and procedures for different membership and payment types. Follows company safety standards, procedures, and guidelines, including conducting safety sweeps. Follows proper procedures for handling merchandise. Corrects and reports unsafe situations to facility management. Maintains entrance areas by acknowledging members, verifying membership cards, and identifying member needs. Assists members with purchasing decisions, locating merchandise, and transporting items. Zones and organizes merchandise to maintain a safe shopping environment. Maintains exit areas by reviewing member receipts, acknowledging members, and identifying member needs. Protects Sam’s Club assets by observing and communicating potential criminal activity in accordance with company policies and procedures. Maintains paperwork, logs, and other required documentation. Executes emergency response procedures and ensures compliance with company security and safety practices. Assists with training new Member Frontline Services associates on company processes and procedures, teaches new technology and tool functionality, delivers new program roll‑outs, and provides continuous learning and process improvement opportunities. Ensures the area of responsibility is maintained in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling returns, zoning the area, arranging and organizing merchandise, and identifying shrink and damages. Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity through action plans, the Open Door Policy, and consistent application in business processes. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources, collaborating with managers and co‑workers, identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations, communicating progress, and recommending improvement opportunities while adapting to change. Minimum Qualifications Retail experience, including operating front‑end equipment (e.g., cash register). Experience working with mobile retail applications. Preferred Qualifications None listed. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid in amounts ranging from $0.35 per hour to $3.00 per hour in specific circumstances. Premiums may be based on schedule, facility, season, or specific work performed. Multiple premiums may apply if applicable criteria are met.
