Role Description

As an ML/AI Engineer specializing in Computer Vision, you will be responsible for giving our synthetic engineers the ability to see and interpret the physical world as documented in complex engineering diagrams. You will develop and implement the core models that digitize and understand visual information from P&IDs, datasheets, and other technical documents. This role is critical for transforming static, unstructured visual data into a structured knowledge base that our AI agents can reason with. You will be a key player in building the foundational visual intelligence of our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and train state-of-the-art deep learning models for object detection, segmentation, and classification on complex engineering diagrams.
• Implement advanced Optical Character Recognition (OCR) techniques to accurately extract text and symbols from technical documents.
• Design and build robust data pipelines for ingesting, processing, and augmenting large volumes of visual data.
• Collaborate with the core AI and backend teams to integrate computer vision outputs into our central knowledge graph.
• Research, prototype, and implement novel computer vision algorithms to continuously improve the accuracy and capabilities of our systems.
• Work with our product team to understand customer needs and translate them into computer vision-based solutions.
• Deploy and maintain computer vision models in a scalable, production environment.

Required Qualifications:

• Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a related field.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience in building and deploying computer vision models.
• Proven experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.
• Strong programming skills in Python and extensive experience with computer vision libraries like OpenCV, Pillow, or scikit-image.
• Solid understanding of core computer vision concepts, including image processing, feature extraction, and 3D geometry.
• Experience deploying models in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with document image analysis and information extraction from technical drawings (e.g., P&IDs, CAD files).
• Familiarity with generative models (e.g., GANs, VAEs) for data augmentation or synthetic data generation.
• Experience with building and managing large-scale image datasets.
• Knowledge of the manufacturing, industrial, or engineering sectors.
• Experience in a fast-paced startup environment.
• A portfolio of projects or publications demonstrating expertise in computer vision.
