The Clinical Lab Scientist (MLT/Medical Technologist) is responsible for performing diagnostic laboratory tests to support patient care. They operate and maintain laboratory equipment, process specimens, and ensure accurate results in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities:
- Conduct diagnostic tests on patient samples with precision and care.
- Process and analyze specimens efficiently, handling at least 10 patients per hour.
- Operate and troubleshoot laboratory equipment, including Cerner systems.
- Maintain accurate documentation and quality control records.
- Adhere to safety protocols and proper phlebotomy procedures.
- Assist in specimen collection, ensuring timely and accurate patient testing.
- Possess a minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a clinical laboratory setting.
- Hold a valid phlebotomy certification.
- Demonstrate hospital laboratory experience, with ability to adapt quickly between patients.
- Have proficiency with Cerner or similar laboratory information systems.
- Ability to work weekend shifts, including nights, in a fast-paced environment.
- Be able to move swiftly between patients, collecting specimens efficiently.
- Gain experience working in a dedicated oncology care environment.
- Develop skills in phlebotomy, specimen processing, and laboratory technology.
