Under minimal direction, provides specialized expertise within multiple systems, software disciplines, as well as general knowledge of related disciplines, applications implications, and customer areas. Designs, develops, documents, tests, and debugs software that contains logical and mathematical solutions to business/mission problems or questions in computer language for solutions by means of data processing equipment. Applies the appropriate standards, processes, procedures, and tools throughout the development life cycle. Applies knowledge of computer hardware and software, subject matter to be programmed in business/mission applications, information processing techniques used, and information gathered from system users to develop software. Corrects program errors, prepares operating instructions, compiles documentation of program development, and analyzes system capabilities to resolve questions of program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques, and controls. Ensures software standards are met.Basic Qualifications-A final secret clearance is required for consideration -Demonstrated proficiency with at least one modern software language such as C++, C, C#, and/or Java (Preferably C++)-Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL)-Proficiency in a Version Control System (Git)-Software development on a Linux environment-Experience with one or more of the following: Python, JavaScript, HTML-Strong analytical/problem solving abilities; effective communication for cross team coordination; Experience with JIRA and ConfluenceDesired Skills-Experience in automation with Ansible-Containerization Experience -Microservice Experience-Software design/architecture experience-Hardware/software integration and test experience-Experience in design and development of software applications.-Experience in developing new capabilities into a legacy software system.-Experience in software analysis against performance requirements.-Experience in optimizing software applications for performance.-Experience in development of complex mathematical algorithms from whitepapers or algorithm design documentation.-Experience resolving cyber/security issues identified by Fortify/SonarQube/etc.-Experience using Eclipse to develop software applications.-Experience using Maven/Gradle or other software build tools.-Experience using automated unit testing frameworks.-Security+ or equivalent certification is a plus.-Proficient in AI prompting as it applies to this position and practicePay InformationFull-Time Salary Range: $148300.00 - $275500.00At Lockheed Martin, we know mission success starts with taking care of our people.
