POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for supervising, labor management, and planning of inbound, outbound, Product slotting and customer communication activities daily, including labor scheduling, space utilization, equipment and manpower. People management responsibilities include hiring and training, planning and assigning daily work, conducting performance appraisals, addressing performance issues and resolving problems. Under the direction of the Operations Manager or Distribution Center Manager, the Supervisor is responsible for supervising the receiving, warehousing and shipping of products in a manner consistent with company service and cost objectives.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Conduct staff meetings to review daily/weekly work activities and plan continuous improvement. Keep senior management and client representatives informed of critical issues affecting operations. Develop and enforce systems and procedures for managing operations, equipment, and products safely and profitably in accordance with company policies. Implement and report on cost‑saving measures and suggest more efficient operations. Meet all client‑specified KPIs and comply with quality system requirements. Manage operations to achieve prescribed objectives, applying sound communication and motivational techniques and fair discipline. Assist Human Resources with hiring, training, professional development, and performance evaluation. Oversee training and evaluation of warehouse staff. Plan daily work schedule by reviewing work orders, arrival notices, and customer instructions. Review pending jobs, reorganize warehouse space, adjust staffing, and supplies. Train new staff or delegate training, assess progress, and assign additional duties as appropriate. Provide guidance on quality and quantity of jobs during the day. Assign supervisory duties to experienced team members and keep management informed of progress. Hold regular meetings with staff to assess status, discuss improvement ideas, and communicate new developments. Assist in physical operations as needed. Deliver results by leveraging the right people at the right time. Maintain high motivation among team members for customer satisfaction. Provide growth and development opportunities for team members. Conduct annual performance reviews for team members. Support adherence to SOPs (corporate and client).}

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education & Experience Must have a high school diploma or GED. 3 years’ experience in logistics/distribution or a relevant environment. 1 year experience in a supervisory role. Preferred: Prior MHE certification / basic MHE operation knowledge. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Professional Designations Satisfactory completion of a forklift training program. Computer Skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). RF Scanners. WMS functions. Language Skills English (reading, writing, verbal). Business communication. Mathematical Skills Basic to intermediate level to verify quantities of product, count inventory, or perform related duties. Other Skills Strong attention to detail and timely job completion. Good organizational and personnel skills. Good written and oral communication skills. Good leadership, supervision, and planning skills. Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights and weekends as required. Participate in cross‑training metrics activities and assist as a backup when needed. Adapt to change and thrive in a fast‑paced environment. Work overtime as dictated by business requirements. Work in unregulated temperatures within the warehouse; temperature range mild to moderate.
