About the Position

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a hospital environment. The patient ratios are typically 1:4 or 1:5. The unit provides nursing and patient care technician support. Required equipment includes a baxter pump, SCD, telemetry, 12 lead EKG, OGT with TF, and high flow oxygen. The documentation system used is Meditech Expanse. Nurses will be scheduled for 36 hours per week, including 3 weekend shifts every 4 weeks. Floating may occur, maintaining the same patient ratio as the unit to which they are assigned. Advanced skills needed include occasional trach/vent management, chest tube management, and care for trauma patients utilizing pulmonary toilet. Dress code consists of navy blue attire. Unit policies and guidelines may be provided upon request. The unit values teamwork, advanced technology, and effective scheduling options.
