RN - Labor and Delivery (Full-time, Night Shift) Job Description Centered in the heart of Boyle Heights, Adventist Health White Memorial is one of the area’s leading healthcare providers since 1913. We are a 353‑bed hospital with comprehensive services in the Los Angeles area. Job Summary: Delivers coordinated nursing care for a patient or an assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process. Supervises and directs nursing staff, coordinates care with other disciplines, and utilizes critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision‑making. Job Requirements: Education and Work Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (BSN): Preferred Acute care facility experience: Preferred Licenses/Certifications: Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS/HS‑BLS/RQI‑BLS) certification: Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS/HS‑BLS/RQI‑BLS) certification: Required Hospital Fire and Life Safety (HLFS): Required Department Specific License/Certifications: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS): Required Fetal Heart Monitoring (FHM): Required AWHONN Advanced Fetal Monitoring course on hire and every two years for experienced nurses: Required Essential Functions: Collects relevant patient data, analyzes assessment information, determines diagnoses and care issues, develops a care plan, implements the plan, coordinates care delivery, and employs strategies to promote health and safety. Evaluates progress toward outcomes and identifies patient outcomes. Collaborates with patients, families, and healthcare providers to provide safe, healing, humane, and caring care. Provides learning opportunities for patients, families, and team members. Communicates health information directly to patients, families, and treatment team. Participates in discharge planning to ensure continuity of care. Delegates and coordinates duties of healthcare team members effectively. Performs other job‑related duties as assigned.
