MRI Technologist

Location: New York, NY 10011
Job Type: Contract
Duration: 9 Weeks
Shift: Day | 8:00 AM–8:00 PM
Schedule: Friday, Saturday & Sunday | 3x11 Hours | 33 Hours/Week
Local Candidates: Accepted
Traveler Candidates: Accepted

Pay Rate:
Local: $78–$83/hr
Traveler: $78–$83/hr

Required Qualifications:

• Graduate of a JRCERT-approved School of Radiologic Technology — Required
• Active New York State L.R.T. license — Required
• ARRT certification — Required
• Strong knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy
• Strong understanding of MRI physics and physical sciences
• Knowledge of anatomy and physiology relevant to MRI
• Strong technical MRI skills
• Minimum 2 years of MRI experience — Preferred
• Strong patient communication and education skills
• Ability to follow MRI safety protocols and departmental procedures
• Strong attention to detail

Responsibilities:

• Perform MRI imaging procedures according to department protocols and patient needs
• Operate and prepare MRI equipment safely and effectively
• Position patients and MRI coils appropriately for diagnostic imaging
• Educate patients regarding MRI procedures and required instructions
• Review MRI safety questionnaires before allowing patients into the scan room
• Maintain strict MRI safety standards
• Evaluate images for technical quality and transmit appropriate images to PACS
• Accurately label MRI images according to department procedures
• Complete required studies and patient information in the radiology information system
• Schedule exams and maintain patient-related documentation as required
• Maintain cleanliness and readiness of MRI rooms and equipment
• Maintain required supplies and accessories
• Report equipment issues and unsafe conditions to the appropriate supervisor
• Assist physicians with procedures as required
• Assist with inpatient patients as needed
• Follow infection-control policies and procedures
• Attend required training, meetings, and professional development sessions
• Maintain all required licenses and certifications in good standing
• Perform other related duties as assigned
