Two positions are open and ready to fill.ResponsibilitiesProvide direct support for adults with behavioral needs — personal hygiene care, ADL assistance, meal prep, mobility, and daily living skills.Maintain a calm, steady demeanor throughout every interaction, including during challenging moments.Engage actively and meaningfully with the individuals you support — connection is a core part of this role, not an afterthought.Monitor health and behavior, document observations accurately, and communicate updates to program staff at shift end.Foster a respectful, inclusive, person-centered environment that upholds dignity and individual preferences at all times.Attend 3 days of required training in North Haven, CT prior to beginning work.Follow program safety protocols, maintain confidentiality, and adhere to all Arbor and program-specific standards throughout every shift.QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentPersonal or professional caregiving experience preferred; 6+ months in human services a plusComfortable supporting adults with behavioral needs and providing hands-on personal hygiene and ADL careAble to maintain a calm, professional demeanor in all client interactionsMust be available to attend 3 days of required training in North Haven, CTValid driver's license requiredCertificationsCPR/FA certification (required)PMT and other restraint training as required by assignmentCT Medication Administration certification as required by assignmentPhysical RequirementsAbility to lift at least 50 lbsProlonged standing; bending, kneeling, crouching as neededIndoor and community-based activity involvementPsychological RequirementsEmotional stability and resilience when supporting individuals who may exhibit challenging behaviorsCapacity to remain calm, patient, and professional in high-stress situationsStrong attention to detail and ability to follow program protocols preciselyArbor Associates serves Southern New England, including Greater Boston, Central and Western Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island.
