Why This Role High-visibility Assistant Controller role with direct exposure to the Controller Opportunity to lead and develop accounting staff Strong process‑improvement and systems focus Backed by private equity with continued growth initiatives What You’ll Be Doing Month‑End Close & Financial Reporting Lead the month‑end close process for multiple entities. Prepare complex journal entries (accruals, prepaids, intercompany). Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations. Monitor close timelines and resolve bottlenecks. Compliance & Internal Controls Ensure journal entries and reconciliations are fully supported and audit‑ready. Assist in strengthening internal controls and SOX‑style documentation. Prepare quarterly VAT‑related reports for external stakeholders. Accounting Operations Leadership Oversee AP, AR, Inventory Accounting, Fixed Assets, and Cash. Provide hands‑on support during peak periods or special projects. Drive accounting process improvements in partnership with the Controller. Ensure accurate general ledger coding and documentation standards. Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members. Treasury & Cash Management Monitor bank balances and cash availability. Review and approve ACH and check positive‑pay exceptions. Audits & Lender Support Prepare audit schedules, reconciliations, and roll‑forwards. Respond to auditor and lender requests with clear documentation. Perform monthly petty cash and change fund audits. What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. 3+ years of accounting leadership or supervisory experience. Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central experience (required). Manufacturing and/or inventory accounting experience preferred. Strong knowledge of full‑cycle accounting and month‑end close. Detail‑oriented, analytical, and process‑driven. Confident communicator with a collaborative leadership style.
