Greenspace is looking for an Exhibit Builder to join our team in Hillsboro, Oregon. We're open to candidates with different levels of experience, from builders with a solid foundation of hands-on skills to experienced fabricators who can take on complex projects with minimal direction.

We're especially interested in experienced builders with backgrounds in woodworking, cabinetmaking, custom fabrication, or trade show exhibits who can interpret shop drawings, plan materials, and help keep projects moving.

Position Overview

As an Exhibit Builder, you'll work alongside a skilled team to build custom trade show exhibits, displays, branded environments, and specialty projects. This hands-on role combines woodworking, fabrication, technical drawing interpretation, problem-solving, and teamwork to deliver high-quality projects on schedule.

We're considering candidates at both the Builder I and Builder II levels . Builder I candidates should have some relevant hands-on experience and a willingness to continue learning. Builder II candidates should bring stronger technical skills, the ability to work independently, and experience handling more complex fabrication tasks.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and takes pride in producing quality work.

What You'll Do

• Build custom trade show exhibits, displays, and specialty projects from concept to completion
• Interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and production specifications
• Measure, cut, assemble, and fabricate materials accurately
• Prepare cut lists and identify material requirements based on project needs
• Operate woodworking and fabrication equipment safely and efficiently
• Collaborate with team members to meet production schedules and project deadlines
• Use materials efficiently while maintaining quality standards
• Troubleshoot fabrication challenges and identify practical solutions
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Assist with multiple projects in a fast-paced production setting
• Support additional shop and production activities as needed
  

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED
• Some hands-on experience in carpentry, cabinetmaking, woodworking, fabrication, construction, or a related field
• Ability to accurately read a tape measure and use common hand and power tools
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality craftsmanship
• Dependability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
• Commitment to workplace safety and following established procedures

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building trade show exhibits, displays, museum exhibits, retail fixtures, custom millwork, or similar projects
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and shop plans
• Experience creating cut lists and determining material requirements
• Ability to work independently and complete projects with minimal direction
• Experience with CNC equipment, laminates, casework, or finish carpentry
• Forklift certification or willingness to obtain certification
• Experience helping train, mentor, or guide other builders
  

We're particularly interested in candidates who can bring strong fabrication skills, sound problem-solving, and the ability to work independently at the Builder II level. Candidates who have a solid foundation of hands-on experience and are ready to continue developing their skills are also encouraged to apply.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on position that requires:

• Standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing throughout the workday
• Frequent lifting and moving of materials weighing 50 pounds or more
• Working in a manufacturing and fabrication environment with dust, noise, and powered equipment
• Using personal protective equipment provided by Greenspace

Schedule

• Full-time, 40 hours per week
• Standard Hours - Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM
• Overtime is required during peak production periods
• Occasional overnight or out-of-town travel may be required for installations or special projects
