Combo Welder / Structural Welder / Shipfitter

We are seeking an experienced Combo Welder / Structural Welder / Shipfitter to join our team. This role involves welding and fitting structural steel components in a shipyard or industrial environment. The ideal candidate is proficient in multiple welding processes and capable of reading blueprints, fitting materials, and performing high-quality welds to specification.

Responsibilities

Perform welding using multiple processes including Stick welding, MIG welding, and Flux-cored arc welding

Fit, align, and assemble structural steel components according to blueprints and work instructions

Read and interpret technical drawings, weld symbols, and layout plans

Tack, fit, and weld structural parts for shipbuilding or repair

Use hand tools, torches, grinders, and measuring equipment

Inspect welds for accuracy, quality, and compliance with specifications

Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work area

Work in confined spaces, at heights, or in various weather conditions as required

Requirements

5+ years of experience as a combo welder, structural welder, and shipfitter

Proficiency in multiple welding processes (SMAW, GMAW, FCAW preferred)

Ability to pass a welding test (plate and/or pipe, depending on project)

Strong blueprint reading and layout skills

Experience in shipyard, marine, or heavy structural environments preferred

Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding work

Reliable transportation and strong work ethic

$35.00-$45.00 Per hour
