About the Employer

Modesto City Schools is a Pre-K through 12th grade district serving approximately 30000 students. The District is one of the largest employers in Stanislaus County with over 3200 employees. It is divided into three divisions: Business Services Educational Services and Human Resources. An Associate Superintendent oversees each division and a variety of programs such as Early Childhood Education Child Welfare & Attendance Special Education Nutrition Services and City Schools also offers an Induction Program with a state approved curriculum by which new teachers attain their Professional Clear Credential. Requirements / Qualifications

Completed Basic Bus Driver Education Course (20 classroom hours) recommended by the StateDepartment of Education; Successful completion of the twenty (20) hour behind-the-wheel Basic Bus Driver Education Course recommended by the State Department of Education; Graduation from high school or General Education Development (GED) Certificate or California High School Proficiency Examination (CHSPE) Certificate; Valid California Commercial Drivers License - Class B w/ Air Brake Certificate; Valid medical examiners certificate issued in accordance with the motor carrier safety regulations of the DMV; School Bus Drivers Certificate issued by the DMV; Standard Red Cross First Aid Certificate or pass a First Aid exam administered by the CHP; Must provide a DMV printout within (5) work days of offer of employment; Be insurable and maintain insurability at regular and normal premium rates with the Districts insurance carrier.

**Hiring Incentive** Any out of district new hire who agrees to stay for a minimum of one (1) year will be paid a $4000 hiring incentive in the following manner: a. $2000 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of paid contracted service. b. $1000 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of the employees probationary period (i.e. 6-months or 130 days as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement). c. $1000 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of one year of paid contracted service.**Hiring Incentive via MCS training program passes all CHP School Bus Driver testing and is hired as a School Bus Operator ** Any out of district new hire who agrees to stay for a minimum of one (1) year will be paid a $2000 hiring incentive in the following manner: a. $1000 to be paid within 45 days after the first day of paid contracted service. b. $500 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of the employees probationary period (i.e. 6-months or 130 days as stated in the Collective Bargaining Agreement). c. $500 to be paid within 45 days after the successful completion of one year of paid contracted applicants must meet the minimum qualifications (i.e. experience education etc.) as listed on the job description in order to be considered for an interview.
