Test Engineer – Medical Devices

Our medical device client is seeking a Test Engineer to support the development and testing of cardiac devices. This role focuses on developing and validating test methods, applying strong electrical engineering knowledge, and training technicians on testing procedures. The ideal candidate brings approximately 3 years of relevant experience and strong hands-on electronic and mechanical skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement test methods, procedures, and equipment for cardiac devices.
• Develop and validate test methods to support product development and evaluation.
• Train technicians on test methods, equipment operation, and testing procedures.
• Define sample testing parameters, requirements, and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate personnel, schedules, and equipment needed to conduct testing.
• Perform testing on customer samples and specialized tests that cannot be completed within the standard test area.
• Compile and analyze test data to identify necessary changes to test equipment, procedures, manufacturing processes, or testing requirements.
• Troubleshoot electronic and mechanical test setups and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with R&D, engineering, and other stakeholders to deliver assigned projects from design through implementation.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation in accordance with applicable policies and procedures.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.
• At least 1 year of experience in medical device product development or equivalent relevant experience; approximately 3 years preferred.
• Experience developing and validating test methods.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge and a solid understanding of engineering fundamentals.
• Proven hands-on electronic and mechanical skills.
• Ability to analyze test results, troubleshoot issues, and document findings clearly.
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and collaborate across teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting cardiac devices.
• Experience training technicians on test methods and procedures.
• Experience designing or improving test equipment and test setups.
