Req Number: DIR-24-00029 Location: IBHS - Residential - IRP South - Salem, NJ (29 Money Island) Full‑Time/Part‑Time: Full‑Time Number of Openings: 1 Category: Direct Care - Residential Job Summary Under the supervision of a House Manager, Assistant House Manager, Program Supervisor or Program Director, the residential counselor serves as a member of the Residential Program staff providing support and instruction to the residents of the assigned residential site. Essential Functions Provides support services, including daily living skills, life skill development, supportive residential counseling, transportation, as needed by each resident. Supports and assists residents in weekly program schedules and outside activities. Maintains the security and safety of the residents and the facility. Participates in the development and implementation of the Individual Recovery Plan for each resident. Communicates, in written and verbal form, assessments and observations of consumers to other treatment team members. Supervises and monitors residents in self‑medication. (n/a for TRP, Mercer Residential) Maintains accurate and current client documentation according to accrediting standards. Position Requirements Minimum Qualifications High school diploma or GED plus four years of related work or life experience (experience related to job duties must be clearly documented). LPN license plus two years of related work or life experience. Combination of one or more years of college plus related work or life experience equaling four years. RN license. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university plus one year of related work or life experience. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in mental health, health or other appropriate human services discipline. Licenses / Certifications Needed Valid driver’s license is required. Mandated Program Requirements Behavioral Health Services: Completion of a comprehensive competency‑based training program for individuals providing adult mental health residential services is required. Certification of CPR/First Aid, issued by a certified trainer, must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Completion of essential online learning modules is required.
