Description:
The position involves working on a general medicine/surgery and telemetry unit during night shifts.
Required nurse-to-patient ratios are typically 1:5, with a chance for 1:6-7.
Candidates must have 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
Weekend shifts are a requirement, with 3 shifts per 6 weeks.
BLS and ACLS certifications are mandatory, with NIH training preferred.
The role involves caring for a diverse patient population, including those with mental health diagnoses.
Top diagnoses or procedures include altered mental status, congestive heart failure, stroke, surgical patients, and infections.
Staffing and scheduling policies require compliance with attendance and time-off regulations.
Flexibility to float within scope to meet facility needs is expected.
The candidate must demonstrate a self-rating of 3 or above for cardiac care and basic dysrhythmia training.
All candidates must acknowledge compliance with attendance policies and requirements for module completion prior to starting the position.
